Self-Help Tip

Drinking adequate water is one way to keep your blood glucose well controlled.  To determine how much is enough, check out Water, Water Everywhere.

Food Tips

Portion sizes....Put on your plate about 1/3 to 1/2 the amount you would normally.

Eat slowly.  Allow at least 20 minutes before you decide whether or not you need a second helping.

Use a smaller plate....a salad plate works well.

Drink at least 8 ounces of water at the beginning of the meal.

Take a walk about 15 - 30 minutes after you finish eating for about 20 - 35 minutes.
